 Vamps

So it's been quite some time since my last post. School has been really taking my time lately. I had a test and have two more coming up and also a project (which i have already completely, i just need to present it). These past few days or two weeks or so, i have watched quite a few movies actually! So expect more movie reviews and movie related posts. Including this one, i have watched four movies or maybe five. Anyways here is what i think of this movie. 

To give some context, vamps is a 2012 movie about two vampires, stacy and goody. The movie is set in 2010s, which you can definitely tell. For me, this movie is the definition of a campy movie. Its so bad that its good. I honestly loved both Stacy and goody as characters, especially goody. I feel goody as a character, was kind of special because of her backstory. Where we didn't get much about stacy, which i didn't mind honestly. That sort of established goody as the main character and bigger focus for the movie. I really found the vampire community in this movie interesting and the different abilities they had. The outfits in this movie were so cutee. Some weren't my favourite, if i remember correctly (cant remember everything since i watched this few weeks ago). I have mixed feelings about 2010s fashion overall, so of corse there were outfits i wasn't the biggest fan of. But some were really cute! The way goody combined old and new was so cute, sometimes not very cute, but that added so much more to her character. It's also so interesting seeing the difference between the vampires and when they got turned. For example stacy got turned around the 90s i believe and goody got turned in 1840! That truly reflects in them more than you would think. Not only in general behaviour and fashion, but also their abilities and interactions with modern world. Like stacy fully embraces new technology and goody doesn't at all. I found the part where she said "everything is going too fast", when being introduced to new technology so relatable. I don't even blame her, i mean just imagine yourself in her shoes. You are a woman with a husband and two kids in the 1800s and one day you become a vampire, you have to watch your children grow up and pass away and every time anyone becomes special for you, you must abandon them, because its either that or they will get suspicious of you. For a movie thats kind of campy, goody is a pretty good character.

This is a pretty casual watch. Its funny, but has some emotional moments too. I genuinely almost got teary at the end when goody passed. I just wish it hadn't been done in such a terrible funny way. For context, at the very end goody passes away, because she becomes a human again. She dies, by turning into dust. Since the cgi in this movie sucks, goodys death looked terrible and funny. I was so pissed, why would they make it that way, it was so funny... unfortunately. I can see myself watching this again. Its a very cute movie and lots of parts of it make up for the terrible cgi. I loved other characters as well, but i am getting too sleepy right now. Like stacy was fun and i loved her style and vibe a lot. I would write bit more about her, but then again i need sleep.

 Just in case..

Just in case i need to clear this up, which i shouldn't have to but still. I originally planned to post something else today, but i genuinely felt the need to write this. Especially after seeing one of the girlbloggers on tiktok talk about her experience with racism in the girlblogging community. 

I will start by saying that i am very anti-AI. wayy to many of you here, are too comfortable using Ai and if you don't see the issue with using ai images or generative ai in general, go ahead and unfollow me. Now onto things that i think are bare minimum, but apparently some people disagree. I do not support racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism or any of such things. I think abortion is necessary and a choice people should be able to make. What else should i write that is literally bare minimum? Oh right, of course i am a feminist. I find it so annoying that some people disagree with this. I have seen someone on tiktok post something similar and the comments made my jaw drop. Someone had left a comment, saying "i agree with all except abortion, abortion makes me sad". Excuse me? I am just baffled with these type of stuff. I felt the need to establish this and i think thats sad, i shouldn't have to write this. This should be bare minimum.

 Blog layout update + more

As you can see i updated my blog layout! The first layout was cute and i frequently got compliments on it. I hope you guys like this new one just as much as i do! Obviously this one looks way better. The colour scheme is more clear, everything goes together well and i even added few fun widgets (unfortunately i cant get one of them to work properly but for now its okay). I love when i get to this part of progress in anything. When you start something new it seems so hard sometimes confusing, after some time it becomes easier to understand and you get progressively better at it. I love when i make things for the first time and then look back at it and realise everything i could have done better, and then actually do those things better! It's very comforting and rewarding to me. I got the idea to redesign my blog layout yesterday, but i have been thinking about it for quite some time. When creating my blog layouts or any profile layouts, i try to keep it authentic to me and also make it very well so that i can keep it for a long time! 

With that being said, i started planning the update yesterday. I made a very quick draft for it and saved some images from Pinterest. I made sure the vibe and aesthetics were a lot more clear this time and especially the colours! I got some blog codes from "sugarkissedletters.blogspot.com". I highly recommend checking out their blog! It is very cute and they have some good blog codes. After that it was time for experimenting and changing things around. I had so much fun and got so motivated afterwards. I even made my first tiktok and posted it! Speaking of tiktok, if you guys want to follow me there as well i would really appreciate it! My account is "chocon0m". So far i only have one post up but i am planning posting more in the near future. I want to post moodboards and shuffles, and maybe some videos or pictures of myself and my outfits. Typical girlblogging content. Also should i make a special post for when i hit 150 followers? But anyways, this day has been very exciting. I drew, i changed my blog layout, i made new Pinterest boards, i made my first tiktok post and i am currently trying heatless curls. Wish me luck for those by the way!

 Thrift goals! 

(+ What I manage to find so far) 

(Disc: i do not over consume, i buy my clothing pieces slowly and i almost never buy directly from any brand. I know people like to point out overconsumption and point fingers at others, but some of them are genuinely stupid and don't realise how it actually works.)

1. Ruffle top 

These type of tops have had a chokehold on me, for a good minute. I genuinely want one so bad! I would prefer it in either white or grey, other colours would be fine too but if i manage to find a white one, i will be truly blessed. So far i haven't seen anything even slightly similar to these, which is very sad. 

Status: dont have it + haven't found anything similar. 

2. Knitted cardigan 

I need a knitted cardigan. It's very cute and as someone who is always cold i could really use this. I would love to find one of these in white or maybe brown. I haven't really seen any black versions of these, but i imagine they would be very cute as well.  I have seen some kind of similar cardigans to this, but they were either too long or too big or different texture. So i haven't gotten lucky with this one either. 

Status: slightly similar items found but not bought.

3. Knitted bolero (or any bolero in general) 

Boleros are genuinely amazing, trust me on that. If want to wear my cute sleeveless shirt i can layer it with a bolero, it would be very useful for me! Especially because i get easily cold and if i dare to step a foot with a sleeveless top in school i will be brutally executed. I have a deep orange forever 21 top, that sort of looks like a bolero and this one time, when i didn't have any tops left to wear i layered that top with my sleeveless shirt and it was amazing. I actually found a very cute bolero at the thrift store two days ago! It has long sleeves and a detachable fluffy neck. It is genuinely so adorable and i cant wait to wear it! i would love to find more boleros, i am convinced they are one of the best layering pieces a person can own.

Status: found one + looking for more.

4. Pea coat

Self-explanatory. Pea coats are adorable and very darling. I found pieces kind of similar to this, but they weren't exactly pea coats. I genuinely want one so bad. I think i would make a good use out of this. None of my jackets fit me properly, so i am honestly looking for any cute jackets or coats. I would love this is grey, black, pale pink, white and even brown. So i am definitely not limiting myself when it comes t finding this jacket.

Status: dont have + found slightly similar ones. 

5. Any kind of wedge snickers 

It does not matter, as long as it is one of the colours i like. I need more wedge sneakers! The first ever ones i bought are similar to this photo except they are sort of brown and leather. I love those wedges so much and of course i love my second ones as well. I don't know what made me fall so deeply in love with wedges, but its all i think about now. I even had a dream where i found wedge sneakers in the thrift store. Wedges are one shoe type i am extremely passionate about. Apart from the ones i got last year, i haven't found any wedges unfortunately.

Status: own two + looking for more.

6. Uggs

I don't own any and i really want one. But when it comes to uggs i am very picky. If they have fur detailing like these baileys then yes, but if they are short with those ugly colourful stitching then no. I have worn long uggs before and i think i would prefer medium ones. Very short ones are just plain ugly. I will literally make a separate post rating and talking about ugg types, because i am so opinionated about them. I have found few uggs at the thrift store, but they were either too plain, too long, too short, not a cute colour or damaged. So wish me luck in finding cute uggs! 

Status: dont own + have found some but they weren't good enough.

7. Baker boy hat 

I remember few years ago when i desperately wanted this kind of hat. I never actually got it unfortunately which is a bummer because these kinds of hats are adorable. I am okay with any colour and any texture for this hat. Even better if it has a cute detail! I haven't seen these hats around anywhere unfortunately, which is making me very sad! I really really want it.

Status: dont own + looking for it.
